KPTS-Channel 8, the PBS public media affiliate for Central Kansas, seeks an experienced, energetic, and goal- oriented person to join our communications team. This person is responsible for coordinating events that generate revenue for KPTS; establishes and coordinates a volunteer program for the station; assists with KPTS’ social media presence; writes news releases, copy for the KPTS website and writes on-air promos; and performs other communications duties as assigned.

The right candidate for this position will have strong special event experience, volunteer recruitment skills, fundraising sales experience, and public relations experience. He or she will also have strong writing skills and a desire to learn and add new skills to their wheelhouse. He or she will have a strong belief in the value of non-profit public broadcasting, as well as the ability to relay that vision to potential members.
