Special Events Internship

The Special Events Internship at Exploration Place is a paid opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience in the planning, organization, and execution of special events, facility rentals, and hospitality.

As an intern, you will play a major role in the planning and execution of Maker Faire, a large-scale event that showcases the work of makers and inventors. You will work closely with the special events team and gain experience in areas such as event logistics, vendor management, volunteer coordination, marketing, and customer service.

This internship will provide valuable experience and skills for anyone interested in pursuing a career in event planning or hospitality. Build equity for your resume while experiencing the full event process first hand!

The internship is for 400 hours at a rate of $12 per hour, providing a valuable opportunity to develop skills and learn about the inner workings of special events.

This opportunity is open to college students majoring in event management, hospitality, communications and/or general business administration. Organization, strong communication skills, attention to detail, project management and customer service skills are all hallmarks of a great event and hospitality manager.
