Overview / Job Summary:
The Digital Content Specialist is a key contributor within the WSU Tech Communications team, focusing on creating and implementing digital content across various online platforms. This role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented individual who can develop engaging content that reflects the brand’s voice and strategic objectives. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Multimedia Communications, the Digital Content Specialist will be involved in various stages of the content creation process, from initial ideation to final distribution, while ensuring content quality and audience engagement.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development and production of a wide range of video content, ensuring consistency in quality and brand messaging across social media, the website, and advertising efforts.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications teams to craft engaging and visually attractive digital marketing materials.
  • Participate in the creative process by contributing to the development of concepts and storyboards for video projects in line with brand guidelines and marketing objectives.
  • Support the management of video production projects, aiding in pre-production, production, and post-production tasks.
  • Help coordinate on-site production details, including equipment and location setup, to facilitate successful video shoots.
  • Contribute to the timely execution and delivery of content, assisting with the conversion, transcoding, and compression of digital assets.

This role will stay informed about digital media trends, suggesting ideas to enhance content engagement. Collaborate with external vendors under the Assistant Director’s supervision to meet project requirements. Engage in professional development to improve skills and content quality. Maintain a positive team environment and communicate effectively across the organization. Undertake additional tasks and special projects to support the Strategic Communications team.
